Earlier this evening Lazio played their first friendly of their pre-season preparation period against Romanian side Universitatea Craiova and were held to a 1-1 draw.
Davide Ballardini's side played in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Pasquale Foggia, Stefano Mauri and Mauro Zarate behind Tommaso Rocchi in attack.
In the 14th minute, Lazio looked dangerous for the first time, when Mauri found Rocchi in a good position, but the opposing goalkeeper stood in the way of the striker's shot.
Mauri continued to impress and, in the 26th minute, he offered Foggia a great chance, but the Italy international hit a low left footed shot just wide.
The Romanians had a good chance of their own in the 40th minute, when Florin Costea took advantage of a mistake by Aleksandr Kolarov and fired on goal with only a great clearence on the goal line by Sebastiano Siviglia stopping them taking the lead.
Just before the break, Lazio keeper Fernando Muslera pulled off a great save to deny Costea again, stopping a powerful shot that was heading for the top corner.
Ballardini made a number of changes to the team at half time, bringing on new arrivals Eliseu and goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri.
On the hour mark, Lionel Scaloni put Lazio in front after receiving the ball in the area, slotting the ball home at the second attempt.
In the 65th minute, there was a double chance for the Biancocelesti, as first Fabio Firmani saw a shot saved by the keeper and, on the rebound, Simone Inzaghi tried a header which was again saved by the shot-stopper.
Eleven minutes later, Craiova found an equaliser, as New Zealand striker Michael Baird headed in a cross from the left wing to make it 1-1.
