I Watched Juventus Up Until Stefano Mauri’s Goal – Jose Mourinho
The Inter coach commented on the Bianconeri’s controversial victory in Saturday’s anticipo...

Following Inter’s 2-0 victory over Parma this afternoon, coach Jose Mourinho remained positive about his side’s start to the season despite their two point deficit behind leaders Juventus.

“After the opening three games, I think seven points is quite an acceptable haul,” he declared to SkySport.

“I didn’t see a bad display from my side not even in the first half at 0-0. Maybe we were playing a little slow at times, but we created many chances with numerous different players. I saw an extremely organised Parma side, and an Inter that did all it had to in order to win a tricky encounter.”

‘The Special One’ was then asked if he managed to witness the Bianconeri’s third victory in as many games after Juventus ousted Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday night.

“I watched Juventus up until the goal by [Stefano] Mauri,” he responded ironically.

Given the Lazio midfielder had his goal controversially ruled out by referee Gervasoni, Mourinho was then asked why he always looks to cause controversy: “I’m not looking to create any controversy. It’s just that after Mauri’s goal I had to sit at the table for dinner.”

Even Mourinho knew that was controversy..Juve Merdaaaaaaaa...!!!!

Serie A Team Of The Week: Round 3
Goal.com looks at the best performing players from the third round of the Serie A calendar. High-profile names like Samuel Eto'o and Antonio Di Natale lived up to their reputation...

    BEST XI

    Formation: 4-4-2

    Goalkeeper

Jean-Francois Gillet (Bari): Made a spectacular stop on Fabrizio Miccoli early on, but despite making save-after-save, the Belgian was eventually beaten in 92nd minute. He certainly will be a key player this season if the Galletti are to avoid relegation.

    Defence

Andrea Ranocchia (Bari): Our second Bari man in the team. The Italy Under-21 international showed his status as a hot prospect by winning one-on-one challenges against the dangerous duo of Miccoli and Edinson Cavani, displaying great concentration over 90 minutes to help Bari gain a point in Sicily.

Modibo Diakite (Lazio): It’s rare to see a centre-back whose team lost 2-0 in the ‘Team of the Week,’ but the young, physical defender showed experience beyond his years. He did not deserve to be on the losing side at the Stadio Olimpico.

Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus): Timely and effective, the Italian international was never caught napping and was authoritative to deny Julio Cruz and the rest of his the Lazio offence with his superb challenges. Playing alongside Fabio Cannavaro seems to be having a good impact on him.

Giorgio The Giant | Nothing got past Chiellini

Aleksandar Kolarov (Lazio): Robbed of a wonderful goal by Gianluigi Buffon in the 21st minute, Kolarov was a nightmare for Juventus all match long, twisting and turning away from defenders and pushing forward whenever he could. More performances like this will see him catch the eye of larger clubs.

    Midfield

Giandomenico Mesto (Genoa): The Grifoni winger scored a splendid long-range goal that turned out to be the winner, but his performance was not limited to that. When his team were down to ten he lent a helping hand in defence and also drove forward with conviction - it seemed Napoli could only stop him with fouls.

Javier Zanetti (Inter): The captain of the San Siro giants lead by example on Sunday. Great runs, safe in possession, and a force in the centre of the pitch; he did not relent until the points were secure and showed the Parma midfield a thing or two along the way.

The Never Ending Story | Zanetti may never stop!

Giampiero Pinzi (Chievo): His tap-in to open the scoring was not overly impressive, but he did help Chievo to their first points of the season with some highly industrious play in midfield. He won many loose balls and sprayed around passes at the Stadio Dall’Ara effectively.

Juan Vargas (Fiorentina): His form has improved considerably since being moved into midfield last season. Down the left, the Peruvian provides a great attacking threat and on this occasion one of his pinpoint crosses setup Alberto Gilardino’s winner against Cagliari.

    Attack

Antonio Di Natale (Udinese): The former Empoli man is on-fire at the moment! His hat-trick took him up to six Serie A goals already this season. Perhaps a little upset at Marcello Lippi for not playing him in a single minute of Italy’s World Cup qualifiers, the veteran responded by performing a well-placed header, converting a cool penalty, and finishing off a textbook counterattack.

Samuel Eto’o (Inter): He will punish you if you give him just an inch – ask Parma. The Cameroon star worked hard all night to get free of his defenders and when he found just a little bit of space, he curled the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box. A true poacher.
