The brother and agent of Mauro Zarate sent a clear message to Lazio patron Claudio Lotito in the wake of the Biancocelesti’s demolition of local rivals Roma. – “Get a move on”.

With the pending contract of the ZarateKid up for renewal at the end of the month, his brother also took time to comment on the decision by coach Delio Rossi to substitute the mercurial youngster during the derby.

“Mauro scored a great goal and, yet again, he was the first to be substituted. I find this absurd. I have no problem in publicly stating that Delio Rossi must have it in for him [Zarate].”

With the future of a number of Lazio’s most prized possessions still unclear, the Aquile faithful are set for a nervous wait to see what Lotito will do next. A failure to secure the services of players such as Goran Pandev, Pasquale Foggia and Zarate would almost certainly lead to another deep split between the fans and the club president.

As the April 30th deadline draws near, it looks set to be an interesting month on the blue side of Rome.

Report: Goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri Agrees Terms With Lazio
The Argentine shot-stopper is expected to sign a three-year contract at the end of the season.

Despite Argentine Juan Pablo Carrizo flopping at the Stadio Olimpico, Lazio have apparently not lost faith in South American custodians and look set to announce the official signing of Albano Bizzarri, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Argentine’s contract with Catania is set to expire next June and he will sign a three-year-deal with the Aquile, where he is expected to take over the goalkeeping duties from Uruguayan glovesman Fernando Muslera, who is still deemed too immature to hold down a regular starting shirt.

Carrizo, meanwhile, is headed for Spanish side Atletico Madrid, who could take the 24-year-old on loan.

Carrizo joined Lazio last summer for a fee in the region of €7.5 million but has failed impress in the Eternal City and was dropped in favour of Muslera in January after an alleged row with his team-mates in the wake of a dismal 4-1 home defeat to Cagliari.

Albano Bizzarri has been at Catania since 2007, when he joined from Spanish club Gimnastic de Tarragona on a free transfer.

Liverpool are ready to approach Al-Sadd for Mauro Zarate as Lazio squander time in sealing a permanent move for him.

The Argentinean striker is only on loan
at the Roman club, but president Claudio Lotito has not moved to sign him on a permanent deal from the Qatar-based club. Al-Sadd have already warned the Aquile that they would listen to other offers if the Serie A side failed to act swiftly.

The Sun claims Liverpool are ready to trade with the Arabs in an attempt to lure Zarate to Anfield, and leave Lotito red-faced and empty-handed. Reports from England suggest Reds' manager Rafael Benitez is keen on 'The Zarate Kid', who is seen as an ideal partner for Fernando Torres up front.

The striker has already had a spell in the Premier League when he was on loan at Birmingham City. Zarate has bagged 11 goals in 30 games in Serie A this season. Liverpool will have to wait further though as Lazio have first rights to sign him on a permanent deal.

The Anfield club are likely to continue montitoring the situation between Lazio and the Arabs as the transfer market approaches.

The player's representative has revealed that his client turned down English sides to stay at Pescara. Lazio and Roma are now following the teenager.


Marco Verratti, who is 16-years-old, is widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in the peninsula. Unlike Federico Macheda and Davide Petrucci, who ditched their youth clubs Lazio and Roma to join Manchester United, the midfielder has rebuffed offers from Premier League clubs and signed a contract with Pescara until 2011 last month.
“Several people have approached his family to take him abroad,” Verratti’s agent, Donato Di Campli, explained on GRT.

“Top English sides have come knocking and offered the lad’s parents money to secure his services. I did not report them because these proposals arrived via Italian officials.

“In the end it was him who decided to stay because he is attached to this country, the city and the fans. He did not want to deprive the club of such an important asset. As for me, I did not want to upset the club’s owners and its supporters. However, I can tell you that Roma and Lazio are tracking him.”

The Lupi and the Biancocelesti lost Petrucci and Macheda respectively to Manchester United for a nominal fee, with the latter recently grabbing headlines for his efforts with the Red Devils.
