Zarate insists he's committed to Lazio

Mauro Zarate has pledged his future to Lazio.

“I will be in Italy tomorrow to stay close to him,” explained his brother and agent Sergio.

“We are sad Lazio aren’t doing as well as we expected them to but this is not a good reason to say Mauro will leave them.”

The former Velez Sarsfield star has been linked to several of Europe’s top clubs but President Claudio Lotito won’t let go of him easily.

“I have heard rumours regarding Mauro. Papers say he will leave the Olimpico next June but I can guarantee to you that this is completely false.

“My brother signed a contract with Lazio and he will respect it.”

Menurut sang agen, Mauro Zarate ingin tetap memperkuat Lazio setidaknya sampai akhir musim ini.

Zarate termasuk pemain yang banyak diincar saat bursa transfer pada musim panas lalu. Meski begitu ia tetap bertahan di Lazio.

Namun performa Lazio yang sedang menurun membuat Zarate dikabarkan merasa tidak kerasan dan ingin pindah ke klub lain.

Beberapa klub papan atas Eropa sedang memantau perkembangan pemain asal Argentina ini. Namun agen Zarate yang juga kakaknya, Sergio, membantah kalau adiknya berencana hengkang ke klub lain.

"Saya sudah mendengar banyak gosip mengenai Mauro. Banyak media memberitakan kalau ia akan pindah pada Januari atau Juni mendatang, saya rasa itu tidak tepat," terangnya melalui Sky Italia.
