Mauro Zarate's brother and agent, Sergio Zarate, has warned Lazio that if they do not complete their pending signing of his sibling soon, then the Argentine star will be happy to move to one of the many other clubs that are interested in securing his services on the field.

The former Birmingham City striker is owned by Qatari club Al-Sadd, but steps were recently taken to make the forward's loan move to Lazio a permanent fixture.

The club have agreed personal terms with the player but the deal has not yet been finalised as Lazio have yet to pay the fee with Al-Sadd, which in turn has Zarate's agent on edge.

"I am waiting for the phone call. [Claudio] Lotito needs to tell me by June 30 that he has completed the contract," he stated, according to reports coming from the peninsula.

"We had given him the deadline of April 30 to speak to the Arab club and find an agreement. That did not happen, so we have to go through the buy-out clause to release him from Al-Sadd.

"In the next 10 days, president Lotito has to send the money and I will only be relaxed after the cash has gone to Al-Sadd.

"Seeing as there is no money yet, I cannot possibly be relaxed. I have no certainty that Lotito will buy out the contract."

Zarate has attracted further interest from English sides since his time in the Premier League, and, according to Sergio, clubs from other major leagues have voiced their interest in the 13-goal Serie A hitman.

"If Mauro does not stay at Lazio then he will go elsewhere and is certainly not lacking offers," he went on.

"Mauro would be very happy to remain and we talked about a five-year contract, but it all depends on Lotito.

"If he doesn’t complete the buy-out, we have another four or five clubs waiting for news from Italy, Spain and England.

"If Lazio don’t pay up then it certainly would not be our problem."

The hitman has promised to stay at the club beyond his 2014 contract and fire them towards great success...
Lazio ace Mauro Zarate has underlined his love for the club, pledging his future there as he eyes a successful career in Rome.

The Argentina international joined the Aquilotti on a permanent basis last week after buying out his contract with Qatar-based side Al-Sadd. Zarate was outstanding for the Biancocelesti last term, scoring 13 goals in Serie A. He also helped his side lift the Coppa Italia.

Zarate is now hoping he can continue to help the Rome-based side in their fight for domestic and continental glories.

"I would [like to] stay at Lazio for the duration of my career. I want to improve with the team and fight for major honours like the Scudetto and Champions League," Zarate told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

"There is great enthusiasm in the dressing room and we always have fun. We really are a great group.

"When I arrived in Rome I felt at home instantly.

"I adapted easily because the people here are similar to those in Argentina. The people are very affectionate and sociable."

Lazio are set to return to Formello for their pre-season preparations on July 4.
